<p>The development of biological computers has been made possible by the expanding new science of nanobiotechnology. Many examples of simple biological computers have been designed, but the capabilities of these biological computers are still largely premature in comparison to commercially available non-bio computers. However, there is definitely great potential in the capabilities that biocomputers may one day acquire. Evidence of the true potential of the computing capabilities of biocomputers exists in the most powerful, complex computational machine known to currently exist: the biological computer that is the human brain. Certainly, there is plenty of room to improve in the realm of biocomputer computational ability; one may reasonably expect the science of biological computers to advance greatly in the years to come.</p>

The world of today, is vastly different from the old world in many ways. Man kind has taken some very huge leaps in knowledge in the last several centuries, both technologically and philosophically. Either way you look at it the world of today is nothing like anything that has ever existed before.</p>
<p>With the rise of the modern era also came the ability to destroy all life on the planet in one or two actions. So also with this new destructive power came the ability to destroy all life on earth through the systematic poisoning of the environment. It is amazing that the hand of the apocalypse by weapons has been stayed yet the hand of slow poisoning works tirelessly at dismantling the ecosystems of the planet.</p>
<p>As this planet struggles under our poor stewardship the signs are all around us to change. Who has the courage to change, is there anyone left who really means what they say. That goes for me to, I talk a good talk but am I really making a difference.</p>
<p>I thought about this the other night at the dinner table while posing some environmental concerns to my teenage sons. I was amazed that one of my sons exclaimed he was unconcerned for the planet because he thought it would last through his life. What an eye opener that was for me. It was at that moment I realized maybe I was thinking the same way deep inside, maybe I felt exactly the same but didn&#8217;t have the courage he had to say something. Isn&#8217;t it true actions speak louder than words?<br />

The truth of the matter is I love the planet and everything that is on its ever increasingly fragile surface. I also love the technology we have all come so used to enjoying. How can I support both, when they don&#8217;t seem to coexist very well? It is simple, by finding ways to make our technology green.</p>
<p>I believe the answer to the questions we face are in the biological realm. We need to look at the biological avenues more seriously, life itself holds the key to the perpetuation of life on our planet. Imagine a world not of machines but of life. It is well known the power of the human brain is far superior to any computer on the face of the planet. So why not have biological computers, power sources, equipment, etc? Maybe the Flintstones weren&#8217;t that dumb after all.</p>
<p>Remember what the machines in the Matrix used for power, it was people. It really is not to far fetched to think of implementing bio mechanical, bio luminescent, bio computational, and bio dynamic technologies to solve our worlds problems.</p>
<p>I challenge myself and everyone else to think about what we are leaving for our children, or maybe even for ourselves. It is time to act. It is time to act today not tomorrow. I hope I will have the courage today to drive one less mile, turn one less light on, and say one more prayer.</p>
<p>Make it a great day, together we as people can save this world.</p>
<p>Together we can do anything, just watch and see. Have hope and believe.</p>

<div><br/><br/><br/><br/>The computer system today who have grown considerably, has been part of the technological evolution in society, living today without computers is like stop progress, as they are the most important tool in any activity of daily living, they help us to maintain our accounts, develop new technologies and connect us to the whole world.<br/><br/>A conventional computer is capable of performing millions of operations per second however, it&#8217;s not capable of making decisions by itself, in other words a computer can not perform tasks by itself, it requires to be programmed, but a single program is limited to do only a certain task, and for multiple tasks requires multiple programs. Manufacturers of computers, provide us with the hardware needed to operate the computer as well as software developers provides the programs that allow us to use hardware as a tool, but, what would happen if a computer would be able to making decisions without the use of large amounts of specialized software?<br/><br/>Developers of new technologies have sought alternatives to achieve this task. An astonishing discovery was made 50 years ago during the study of the human brain; it is possible to implement an artificial system based on the same architecture of the biological neural networks and their operation, so they develop artificial intelligence and neural networks.<br/><br/>Artificial intelligence is nothing more than a set of techniques based on the behavior of a human brain, primarily in learning and making decisions. In his majority, living beings are biological systems that learn and based on that learning are capable of making decisions, where these decisions are generally based on survival.<br/><br/>In the same way the artificial intelligence systems require learning and making decisions, but unlike biological systems, artificial system operates on the basis of mathematical algorithms and learning is induced for specific purposes. Within artificial intelligence there are many categories, but in the case of intelligent computers the most used are artificial neural network and genetic algorithms among others.<br/><br/>The neural networks are no more than an emulation of the neural system of the brain, where each element of the biological system is replaced by a mathematical equivalent. An artificial neural network can do similar tasks of the human brain, tasks that a regular computer is unable to perform as image recognition, speech recognition and making decisions, the disadvantage of this system compared to a programmed system, is that it needs to be trained, in other words, a neural network without training is like a newborn child coming into the world, so scientists developed various models of neural networks each with different abilities and different algorithms.<br/><br/>Today the use of artificial intelligence and neural networks are being implemented in software, emulating the parallel nature of a neural network to a linear system. The most common applications are voice recognition, character recognition (OCR), image reconstruction and more, but are also being implemented in hardware, where lineal structure of processors is changed to a neural structure, which takes advantage of the parallel nature of the neural networks. This new technology is called Neural Processors.<br/><br/>Currently neural processors are being used in specific applications, such as robotics, where at the moment, it&#8217;s easy to implement, but lately have been developing hybrid systems using microprocessors and neural processors, which are usually used in servers.<br/><br/>One might think that the technology of artificial intelligence will help society achieve a better standard of living, but also we must keep in mind, that inheriting our biological capabilities to a machine makes us more dependent on them, and that dependency, only inhibits our intellectual capacities. No matter who claims to desperately need your help, you are not going to get out of bed. Your computer can suffer the very same thing&#8211;a virus. And, in the worst-case scenario, it might cause your computer to refuse to start up.<br/><br/>The term &#8220;virus&#8221; in the computer world comes from exactly where you might think&#8211;the term used for illnesses like the common cold. Like a biological virus, a computer virus spreads by making and sending copies of itself to other computers.<br/><br/>A computer virus causes a lot of trouble in a computer and the infection occurs without the consent of the user. The copies it makes of itself could be exactly like the original virus, or they might vary a bit. They typically spread over a network or via the Internet.<br/><br/>Many people lump all malicious programming under the label &#8220;virus.&#8221; However, a virus is something completely different from a worm or a Trojan horse. Unlike a virus, a worm can&#8217;t spread on its own; it requires some action from the user, such as opening or running an infected file. A Trojan horse is a file that tricks the user into running it by appearing to be harmless.<br/><br/>Viruses cause problems for computer users by harming programs, reformatting the hard disk, or deleting files. Although the vast majority of viruses are created for the purpose of doing harm, there are a few that are meant to be harmless pranks that merely display video, audio, or text messages. Regardless, these viruses still use up memory without permission.<br/><br/>The fist virus was dubbed &#8220;Elk Cloner&#8221; and it was made to run on the Apple DOS 3.3 operating system. It was created by a high school student named by Richard Skrenta in 1982. It was a joke virus that was transmitted using a floppy disk containing a game.<br/><br/>The disk could successfully open the game 49 times; on the 50th the virus was activated. It caused the screen to go blank and then display a poem reading: &#8220;It will get on all your disks. It will infiltrate your chips. Yes it&#8217;s Cloner! It will stick to you like glue. It will modify RAM, too. Send in the Cloner!&#8221;<br/><br/>Brain was the first virus for the PC. It was designed in 1986 by brothers Basit and Amjad Farooq Alvi. Their purpose for creating the virus was to protect legitimate software they&#8217;d written from being copied illegally.<br/><br/>In the early days of viruses, the usual means of infection was through some form of media that could be moved from computer to computer, like a floppy disk. However, today, it&#8217;s easier for viruses to be spread over the Internet or through computer networks, so most are designed to do just that.<br/><br/>Because of the popularity of the Windows platform, the majority of viruses are designed to exploit weaknesses in the Windows operating system. However, that&#8217;s not to say that there are no viruses affecting other operating systems. The truth is, no matter what operating system you&#8217;re running, unless you take steps to prevent virus infections, your computer is vulnerable.<br/><br/>There is an entire industry of virus protection software. The most common ways these anti-virus programs work are: 1) Detecting viruses using signature definitions, and 2) Detecting viruses using a heuristic algorithm that recognizes typical virus behaviors.<br/><br/>A program that uses signature definitions relies on the user to keep the list of definitions up to date using updates and patches put out by the maker of the software. These are usually available at no cost with purchase of the software or through a paid subscription to the software.<br/><br/>The algorithm method is able to find viruses for which no signature exists.<br/><br/>Other ways of protecting your computer against viruses include making backups of your data and operating system on media not stored on the computer&#8217;s hard drive. This way, if your computer should be infected causing a loss of data or the inability to start up the computer, you can restore the computer.<br/><br/>If your computer becomes infected, it&#8217;s unwise to continue using it until the virus has been removed by completely reinstalling the operating system. This is a time-consuming process and often results in lost data. <div><br/><br/>If we can call normal viruses life, they being just RNA covered with protein, no internal workings, and certainly no consciousness, then I think we ought to call computer viruses life as well.</p>
<p>They multiply, the can evolve, they defend themselves. What more does one need? Sure, they&#8217;re not biological, but why is that important to the concept of life?<br />
If people say that a computer virus is &#8216;just&#8217; a file, one can perhaps make the argument that a biological virus is &#8216;just&#8217; a strand of RNA covered with a coat of protein.</p>

<div><br/><br/>Im 25 years old and have never met my real father, I have just recently asked my mother for any information she may have on him but it was very limited. My mother is 45 and said he was a bit older, his first name is Michael and his last name may be Crough but my mother was not 100% on that. In 1981 he was an I.T. person for a major computer company of the time doing work at Luke AFB in Arizona, she was in her 20&#8217;s when she got pregnant, when she told him he said he didn&#8217;t want involved so she left to come back home here in Oklahoma. I have no idea how to track down someone with this limited of information so any help or advice any of you may have could be very helpfull, thanks.<br />
Also, once i find him can i request DNA testing to prove paternity or anything along those lines. I guess what im asking is what are my rights after 25 years?
